Black Wednesday, Wild Turkey Wednesday, The Night Before Thanksgiving, whatever you call it it usually means one thing for the party-goers of America: the holidays have arrived and it’s time to let loose and get your drink on!  And we at Howl at the Moon are all about it, especially when combined with dueling pianos, dancing, and live entertainment.

Come with your kin, or come with your friends, you might even run into that old high school crush….whatever your case may be, Thanksgiving Eve at Howl will be the place to start your holiday festivities!  Howl at the Moon will be honoring Thanksgiving Eve on the Eve before Thanksgiving (clever, right?) which is Wednesday, November 21st.

In addition to our special features and deals in honor of Thanksgiving, we are giving away free happy hours parties at all of our locations nationwide!  Click HERE for your chance to win one!   Our popular Happy Hour packages include steep drink discounts (sometimes free!), free appetizer buffets, giveaways and more.

So plan for a big night out before you’re stuck at the dining room table listening to Aunt Mildred’s stories for hours on end (we all know what a bore that can be), and come out to Howl at the Moon!  We promise it’s the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

Boston Tap Takeover!

Michael Yates —  August 2, 2012

BOSTON, MA.  On Monday, July 31st, the Financial District poured into Howl at the Moon Boston to sample some of the city’s best local brews, for their first Samuel Adams Tap Take Over event. Samuel Adams Beer was the only brew flowing through the taps at this dueling piano bar. Specialty micro brews were crafted a month prior at the Boston Beer Company in anticipation for this free beery event.

Howlers had their choice of 7 special brews, beginning with the classic Samuel Adams Boston Lager, which has a full-flavored taste with a balance of malt sweetness and hop spiciness. Next, was the timely Samuel Adams Summer Ale that tickled your taste buds with a lemon zest and taste of the Grains of Paradise.

One of the most popular brews that night was the Samuel Adams Blueberry Hill Lager, that wasn’t too sweet but fruity and crisp with a distinct blueberry aroma.  Another favorite was the Samuel Adams Belgian Session ale, which is crisp and refreshing with a distinct Belgian character of fruit and spices. One of the brews that knocked most of our howlers’ socks off was the Samuel Adams Griffin’s Bow. This brewski is slowly aged in oak barrels, in blonde bareleywine with a wine-like aroma and distinct oak character. This brawny brew has an alcohol content over 10%; a few pints of these and you’ll be up singing, “I Love this Bar”, by Toby Keith with our players!

Beer advocates were also enjoying the Samuel Adams flights, which allowed them to sample 3 mini beers at once, on a convenient long wood paddle for $7. Howlers also mixed and matched some brews, mixing Samuel Adams Summer Ale with the Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider. If guests had any questions about these particular stouts, Samuel Adams Rep, Ricky Wolfe was there to educate all there is to know about these craft beers.

Howl at the Moon also featured some great prizes that guests could take home to remember the night. The night’s favorite, the Howl at the Moon bright orange koozie, kept the beer cold and warmed our howler’s hearts and hands. Another prize was a frosted Howl at the Moon Mug, with some bar swag inside, that included free admission passes to keep our guests coming! If guests “checked-in” to the event on, they were automatically entered to win a grand prize of a Samuel Adams gift basket full of beer swag goodies!

Guests enjoyed our special live entertainment, as the band of four played songs all over the board from country favorites like “Toes” to 90’s jams like “Walking on Broken Glass”.  Part of the crowd were Howl’s own performers on their off night who couldn’t stay away from the stage too long; Howl’s favorite entertainers Debbie & Nate got on stage to sing “Look at Me Now” by Chris Brown.

Some gals took the time to take their picture with Sammy, the Samuel Adams cardboard cut out, while enjoying the nights’ ½ off appetizer specials! The party didn’t stop until 1am!

Stay tuned for more brewski occasions like these to come!

On Wednesday , May 9th, Howl at the Moon hosted one of Boston’s most coveted night for a cause complete with celebrity chefs, live auctions and entertainment unlike any other nightlife establishment. Phantom Gourmet teamed up with some of Boston’s top culinary talent to host the Phan Night kick off event at the Howl at the Moon’s Boston dueling piano bar, located in the Financial District. This preparty was a boost for their Hot Dog Safari event on Saturday, May 19th on Landsdowne Street. The “Safari”, founded over 20 years ago, is an interactive day of family, food and fun all benefitting the Joey Fund and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Howl at the Moon hosted this frankfurter frenzy for its second year in a row in hopes to continue their song for charity, “We love being able to donate our space to such a great cause, and what can I say, everyone loves live music and hot dogs!” says Ashley Gordon, Sales and Events Manager of Howl at the Moon. Gordon was among the 250 supporters that evening who bid on auction items including 4 courtside seats to the Celtics, a David Yurman bracelet from Long’s Jewelers, gift certificates to local restaurants, hotel stays at the Westin Waterfront, and a private golf outing at the Belmont Country Club, to name a few.

Supporters, socialites, and street food-savvy howlers crowded the dance floor while boogying to the requested songs played by the talented Howl entertainers. Howl’s signature 86oz buckets of booze were washing down the tasty treats of the night. Our frankfurter faithfuls dived into Paul Wahlberg’s “Stray Dog” complete with smoked tomato salsa and sirracha, paired with Howl’s Adios Mofo bucket, it was a party in everyone’s mouth. Next, Lydia Shire’s “Sprial Dog” with beef brisket crumbs and Georgia Callaway Gardens grits fries, really got our feet tapping.

Howl at the Moon’s waitresses balanced trays full of these elaborated dogs while coasting through the crowd, rubbing elbows with the Andelman brothers and Don “Big- Party” McCarthy, who is the man behind this sold out event. “Howl at the Moon is a great partner with Phantom Gourmet to support the Joey Fund and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, we couldn’t ask for a better turn out!” says McCarthy, Vice President of Events and Promotions at the Phantom Gourmet.

The final taste to share was full of sweetness, from dessert shots made by Howl’s best bartenders to the Safari Cupcakes from Cakes by Erin. For a sweet image, the entire star-studded staff gathered together on the dance floor in celebration of the night’s success. Andy Husbands, Lydia Shire, Jasper White, Tony Ambrose and Paul Wahlberg gave cheers to Eddie Andelman, the Phantom Gourmet, Howl at the Moon, and of course, to all the supporters surrounding them with bright eyes and full tummies.  Hot dueling pianos, hot dogs, and hot celebrity chefs, what a way to eat and dance all for charity.
