Kevin Youkilis fans, friends, and Chicago White Sox supporters showed up to eat, drink and be merry at Howl at the Moon Chicago on Thursday, August 23rd all for the sole reason of raising money for Youk’s Kids, a charity founded by Youkilis to support children whose parents are fallen heroes. To be merry was an understatement as the event alone raised over $20,000! It was definitely a success as the amount raised surpassed initial goals by a landslide.

Our Chicago dueling piano bar was adorned with Chicago White Sox players: Nate Jones, Addison Reed, Matt Thornton, Gordon Beckham, Alex Rios and of course Kevin Youkilis. Also present were Tom Brady Senior (the father of the New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady). Kevin Youkilis is married to Tom Brady’s sister, Julie Brady. Tom & Julie were not present. The entire event was MC’d by Chuck Garfien, Chicago White Sox reporter. One of the biggest surprise attendees, however, was Illinois Governor Pat Quinn who is a longtime White Sox Fan! He didn’t show up just to pay his respects though, he announced August 23rd as officially Youk’s Kids Day! See the giving of the proclamation below.

Kevin Youkilis also spoke a few words about Youk’s Kids, Chicago, and beating the Yankees. Check out the footage below!

Howl at the Moon was proud to host Youkilis and his gang once in Boston, and now in Chicago – we’ll always be Youk supporters! For information about how you can be a part of Youk’s Kids, click here .
