With Cinco de Mayo being this Saturday, May 5th (check out your local Howl for featured drinks! Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver , Hollywood, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Louisville, Minneapolis, Orlando, San Antonio), I thought it would be fun and timely to write about all things MARGARITA! Mexican is my favorite type of food and with Mexican food come the margaritas, so I have definitely had my fair share of them and have probably turned into a little margarita-snob overtime. I like them strong and not sweet with lots of ice, no salt, on the rocks…with a squeeze of lime to top it off. One is usually enough given the right proportions and ingredients, but it can be easy to get suckered into multiple if the mood is right! And at Howl, the mood is always right :).
All of our locations nationwide (13 and counting!) are featuring 1800 Tequila Margaritas on Saturday. In them you will taste a combination of Blue Curacao, margarita mix, and 1800 tequila! This tequila is fabulous and in the midst of my soapbox on margarita snobbery, I will say it supplements the margarita very nicely. It makes for a ‘not too sweet’ taste and enough umph to take the edge off!
Working for a bar, new drink recipes come as a right of passage and I’d love to share some of my favorite margaritas with you!
1. Moon-a-Rita (How fitting!)
Of course, there are plenty of other drink recipes where those came from and you can find them on our Pinterest page! We will continue to pin new stuff to our boards so be sure to keep checking us out.
On that note, I’ll leave you with a little Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville” to brighten your day. I’m off to buy more ingredients for Cinco!
