Top Ten 4th of July Recipes

Fourth of July Cocktail

  • 1 ounce watermelon schnapps
  • 1 big splash cranberry juice
  • 1 very thin slice jalapeno or serrano pepper
  • 1 slice lemon
  • 1 slice lime
  • 1 1/2 ounces tequila
  • 1/4 ounce blue curacao
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • Watermelon wedge, for garnish (optional)

Mix the schnapps and cranberry juice in a shaker; pour into an ice-filled glass. Muddle the jalapeno pepper, lemon and lime slices, tequila, blue curacao and simple syrup (to make a batch, dissolve sugar in equal parts hot water and chill) in the shaker. Slowly strain into the glass over the red layer. Garnish with watermelon, if desired.

Red, White, and Blue Sangria

  • Strawberries and Blueberries
  • Pineapple, cut into star shapes
  • 2 bottles dry white wine
  • 1 cup Triple Sec
  • 1/2 Cup berry-flavored vodka
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup

Combine the ingredients in a large pitcher and stir. Chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours.

American Feast

  • 1 oz. light rum
  • 1 oz. coconut rum
  • ½ oz. blue curacao
  • Garnish: filet mignon, shrimp, scallops… BBQ in a glass!

Combine all ingredients in a glass filled with ice and stir. Garnish with a filet mignon, shrimp and scallops skewered.

Red and Blue Pop Rocks Shooters

  • Light corn syrup
  • Red or blue Pop Rocks candy
  • Grenadine
  • Half and half
  • Maui Blue Hawaiian Schnapps

Spread the Pop Rocks candy on a plate. Brush light corn syrup around the rim of a shot glass, then dip the rim in the Pop Rocks. Pour grenadine in the glass until it’s 1/3 full. In a cup, mix one part half and half to two parts Maui® Blue Hawaiian Schnapps. Slowly pour the Schnapps mixture over the back of a spoon so the dense mixture rests on top of the grenadine. Serve immediately.
TIP: For those of you who are skilled in “floating,” or layering drinks, omit mixing the half and half and Schnapps and simply layer the white and blue.

Bomb Pop Bucket

  • 4oz UV Blue Raspberry Vodka
  • 4oz Tropical Punch Vodka
  • Sour/Marg Mix
  • Splash of Lemon Lime Soda

Combine UV Blue Raspberry Vodka and Tropical Punch Vodka in 86oz bucket. Fill with sour/margarita mix, splash in some Lemon Lime Soda, and enjoy. Or allow one of Howl at the Moon’s talented bartenders to mix you up a Mega Margarita bucket at our Red, White, and Brew Bash!

The Sparkler

  • Lemon Lime Soda
  • Pop Rocks – any red or blue flavor
  • 2 oz. Blueberry flavored Vodka
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Fresh Blueberries
  • Grenadine (optional)

Spread out 1 package of Pop Rocks on a plate. On a different plate pour some grenadine or simple syrup (if you don’t have any on hand you actually could just wet the rim with water). Dip your glass into the plate with syrup on it. Next dip your glass into the pop rocks. Place a handful of raspberries in the bottom of your glass and drizzle grenadine over them. Next add your Vodka. Add as much ice as your glass will hold – this will separate the blueberries from the raspberries and give you the red white and blue look. Slowly pour in your lemon-lime soda. If you pour too fast, the grenadine will mix into it too much and take away from the “white” aspect of the drink. Add a handful of blueberries on top.

Strawberry Sparkler (serves 10)

  • 6 oz. Sauza Tequila Silver
  • 2 oz. DeKuyper Strawberry
  • 1 bottle rose champagne
  • 4 oz. limeade
  • 1 pint strawberries
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 wedged lime

Wash, stem, quarter and freeze strawberries for at least 1 hour. Place three frozen strawberries in the bottom of a champagne flute. Add champagne. Combine tequila, limeade, and strawberry liqueur in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and pour into flute.

Life and Liberty

  • 1 oz. UV Blue
  • 1 oz. raspberry sherbet
  • 1 oz. lemon-lime soda

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass

The Bloody Firecracker

  • 2 oz. Skinnygirl Cucumber Vodka
  • 2 oz. low-sodium tomato juice
  • Splash lemon juice
  • Squeeze lime juice
  • Dash Worcestershire sauce
  • Dash hot sauce
  • Sprinkle celery salt
  • Cucumber wheel
  • Lime wedge

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass filled with ice. Enjoy!
