Book a Party

Okay, sure. Indianapolis may not have the best rap as a cool place to live, but we are hear to tell you none of that is true. Living in Indianapolis definitely has some awesome perks; and it is not only watching the Colts play (although, yea, they do a lot of that). It is a bigger city than one would  think and there is always lots to do! Don’t believe us? Check out our list below of what we think makes Indianapolis great and start planning your visit.

Banquet halls

1. The Famous St. Elmo’s Steakhouse and all other food

This one should be obvious. Every city loves their food scene, but Indianapolis loves to eat. St. Elmo’s is an institution and if you’re not going here to celebrate your special occasions, they’re definitely not special enough. But that doesn’t really matter, because the pork tenderloins make up for any steak you are missing out on. Oh, also, there’s Devour Downtown for about two weeks in the winter where everyone comes out of their deep winter hibernation and enjoys all the good fare Indy has to offer for a deep discount. It’s worth dragging yourself out into the snow. Trust us.

2. Skywalk System

While Chicagoans are over there complaining about the cold, people in downtown Indy are roaming around nice and toasty in the skywalk. Need to get from the Convention Center to Circle Center Mall? No problem, leave your coat behind – you don’t need it!

3. City Pride

Indianapolis may not be Chicago, Boston or Philadelphia, but that doesn’t mean that the people that live here aren’t as fiercely proud of their city as the big city folk! One of the great things about being the new kid in town is that everyone is very nice and happy to tell you were the best restaurant is in town. No need for a guidebook here, ask any native!

4. The Canal Walk

If you’re looking for a scenic area of the city to talk a long leisurely walk in, the canal walk is for you. Tree lined, with skyline views and the calming canal really serve as a reminder of why you live in this lovely city.

5. The Indianapolis Colts

Do we need to say more? No? Didn’t think so.

6. Indy 500 Race and Festival

Okay, so not EVERY person in Indianapolis really give two hoots about the Indy 500, but it is here and it can be a whole lot of fun. You know, if you like watching cars go around in circles. Or drinking. It’s really the drinking that makes it (let’s be honest).

6. Amazing State Parks

Tired of the hustle and bustle of city life? No problem. There are amazing state parks all around Indianapolis that you can take a day trip to or plan a weekend camping trip with all your friends. And they are seriously beautiful year-round.

7. Carmel’s Arts and Design District/Antique Alley

Do you love design? Art? Crafts? Antiques? Well, you might be surprised to find out that Indianapolis is surrounded by a wonderfully diverse art and antiques scene. Though it’s not technically in Indy, it’s close enough to count. We can’t say that it’s the best art and design district in the Midwest, but we will anyway.

8. Great Live Music

What’s a better way to spend your evening than with a cold drink in-hand taking in some live music? Trick question, there is no better way! Of course, Howl at the Moon Indianapolis has a live, in-house band who put on a high-energy show of all your favorite songs 6 nights a week, but there are so many places to check out live music depending on your tastes or mood.

Howl at the Moon is Indianapolis’ premier party venue. We love to host bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, corporate events, birthday parties, holiday parties and so much more.
