CHICAGO, IL — Howl at the Moon, a nationally established dueling piano bar, opened its doors in Boston’s Financial District this past weekend with a packed house and a star studded celebration.
Howl at the Moon Boston is the fifteenth location for the company which began 20 years ago and now has operations in major markets throughout the United States including Orlando, Hollywood, Chicago and San Antonio. In addition, Howl at the Moon is performing aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship, Epic.
Since 1990, Howl at the Moon has been entertaining its patrons with a dynamic presentation of music which is centered around two players on baby grand pianos with audience participation. Other instruments, such as guitars, drums, horns and fiddle have been added to the show to create a high- energy atmosphere. Songs from all eras and genres are played throughout the night with particular attention paid to requests from the audience. Whether it’s a Wednesday or Saturday night, you are likely to hear songs by Aerosmith, Lady Gaga, and Billy Joel played to an energized after work crowd, bachelorettes, and local celebrities dancing at their tables, which was the case this past weekend.
The opening weekend festivities for Howl Boston and their new concept, Down Ultra Lounge, included parties for local hospitality industry employees, a private party for Facebook fans, and ended with a VIP reception which was attended by a star studded list of VIPs including Red Sox Jason Varitek, Kevin Youklis, Bruins’ players Shawn Thornton, Tuuka Rask, Adam McQuaid, ESPN’s Steve Levy, and local radio celebrity Greg Hill. The grand opening was a huge success and broke company records for sales and guests attended.
