We scoured the web to find the best margarita recipes out there, and we do not want to brag but we really hit this one out of the park. In fact, this blog post got hit so far out of the park that we had to go south of the border to retrieve it. So long as we were there, we put on our ponchos and traveled from pueblo to pueblo speaking with the great cocteleros of Mexico to validate our already awesome margarita recipes. We love these recipes, so you know these margarita recipes are muy auténtico. From frozen margaritas to spicy margaritas to beer margaritas, these margarita recipes will give you a kick in the taste buds. Hold on to your sombreros, it is time to delve into the 10 best margarita recipes known to the internet, Mexico and likely the world!

Parties and events

Grapefruit Margarita

  • 1½ oz. Tequila Silver
  • ½ oz Triple Sec
  • 1 oz. sweet and sour mix
  • 2 oz. grapefruit juice
  • sliced grapefruit
  • salt, for garnish
  • grapefruit slices for garnish

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the tequila, triple sec, sweet and sour mix, and grapefruit juice. Shake! Rub the rim of a margarita glass or mason jar with a slice of grapefruit. Dip the rim in salt, fill with crushed ice, pour the margarita, and enjoy!

Cantaloupe Margarita

  • 1 1/2 ounces Beluga Noble Russian Vodka
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 5 mint leaves
  • 2 slices cucumber
  • 1 lb cantaloupe wedges (1/2 a 3lb cantaloupe, seeds and skin removed)
  • 4 ounces orange liqueur
  • 6 ounces silver tequila
  • salt, for rimming (optional)
  • lime wedges, for serving (optional)

Papaya Margarita

  • Salt
  • Lemon wedges
  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1 cup fresh papaya juice
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau
  • Ice cubes

Moisten the rims of 4 glasses with lemon and dip into slat. Place into freezer to chill. Combine tequila, papaya juice, lemon juice and Cointreau in a pitcher. Remove glasses from freezer and serve margaritas over ice. Garnish with lemon. Makes 4 margaritas.

Blackberry Margarita

  • Salt
  • Lime wedges
  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1 cup blackberry juice
  • 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau
  • Ice cubes

Moisten the rims of 4 glasses with lime and dip into slat. Place into freezer to chill. Combine tequila, blackberry juice, lime juice and Cointreau in a pitcher. Remove glasses from freezer and serve margaritas over ice. Garnish with lime. Makes 4 margaritas.

Spicy Jalapeño Margaritas

For this recipe, we will be infusing tequila with jalapeños, so you will need to give yourself a day or so to make this marg.

  • 3 cups plain tequila
  • 1 cup Grand Marnier
  • 1.5 cups fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup simple syrup (or sub agave syrup to taste)
  • ice
  • lime and  jalapeño slices for garnish
  • salt for the glasses, optional

Jalapeño Infused Tequila:

  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1/2 a sliced jalapeño

Make the jalapeño tequila by adding the jalapeño to the tequila and letting it sit at room temp. After a day, remove the jalapeños and pour tequila into a small glass. Mix together the margarita ingredients in a cocktail shaker and pour into a margarita glass. Add a few drops of the spicy tequila to taste to finished margaritas. Your jalapeño tequila will be very spicy – start with less, you can always add more!

Strawberry Coconut Frozen Margarita

  • 2 oz. Grand Marnier
  • 1 1/2 oz. silver tequila
  • 2 oz. lime juice
  • 2 oz. coconut water
  • 2 oz. cream de coconut
  • 2 1/2 oz. strawberry simple syrup [recipe]
  • Lime and fresh strawberries for garnish
  • Salt and sugar and toasted finely shredded coconut for the rim

Wet the rim of your glass with a lime and dip in a mix of margarita salt + sugar + toasted coconut. Combine tequila, Grand Marnier, simple syrup, coconut water, cream de coconut and lime juice with ice in a cocktail shaker and shake for a minute. Pour over ice in lime slices and add a few strawberries.

Prickly Pear Frozen Margarita

  • Prickly pear cactus juice [buy here]
  • Tequila
  • Frozen margarita

Mix 3 parts prickly pear cactus juice with 1 part tequila. Swirl this 1 fl oz of this mixture into an already made frozen margarita. Enjoy!

Mint Julep Frozen Margarita

  • 10 ounces regular flavored margarita mix
  • 1/2 cup white rum or white bourbon
  • 1/3 cup fresh mint leaves
  • Ice (about 5 cups)

This margarita is perfect for those who love both Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby! Combine in a blender and blend on low until smooth. Serve immediately in a chilled glass and garnish with fresh mint!

Mango Margarita Boozesicles

  • 2-1/2 cups fresh cubed mango
  • 1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons tequila
  • 1 tablespoon triple sec liqueur
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar

Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Add to popsicle molds or waxed Dixie cups and add in wooden ice pop sticks. Place in freezer overnight or until solid.

Cherry Beer Margarita

  • 12 oz can frozen limeade concentrate
  • 12 oz cherry flavored soda
  • 12 oz bottle of Corona Light
  • 12 oz Jose Cuervo
  • Kosher salt, for rimming glass
  • Lime and cherries for garnish

Wet rim of glass with lime and dip in sale. Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir. Serve over ice and garnish with lime and cherry.
